A great way to prepare for a meditation is to spend a few minutes breathing. Being aware of your breath is very important to overall health, as well. One of the main meditation techniques = remember to breathe. Often we breathe too shallow and might not take a deep, full breath all day.
When you learn how to breathe in the different regions of your lungs, then you can begin to use breathing to calm yourself and bring yourself back to a center space when you feel stressed. Taking a few full breathes when you are dealing with issues during your day will help you come back to a feeling of calm. Try it and see for yourself!
