Scientists are attempting to train Beluga whales in the arctic. They recruited Natalia Avseenko because she is an expert in yoga and meditation techniques, and she uses those abilities to stay underwater longer. These scientists believe that Beluga whales hate being touched by artificial things like diving equipment. Ms. Avseenko uses her meditation and yoga skills to keep her body working well in the freezing water.
Meditation techniques can alter the body’s response to heat and cold. But Natalia Avseenko recently demonstrated this under the most challenging conditions. Natalia is a whale trainer and wanted to work with two arctic whales. There was just one problem. The beluga whales she trained dislike all artificial clothing – including diving suits. Most people would have given up on the project but not Natalia. She striped down bare nacked and got into the frigid waters.A female scientist has tamed two whales underwater in the Arctic Circle while naked.Natalia Avseenko, 36, dived into the water completely nude in sub-zero temperatures to reach the beluga whales in northern Russia, after marine experts claimed that the species dislike artificial clothing including diving suits. The average human can only last five minutes in freezing water before dying, but Avseenko used meditation techniques to stay underwater at -1.5°C (29.3°F) for more than ten minutes, the Daily Mail reports.
