Meditation Helps Liv Tyler With ADD

One of the benefits of meditation is a more focused mind and an easier time controlling your thoughts.  This does seem to be right in alignment with what is needed to deal with issues like ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder).  When it is hard to get yourself to pay attention and focused, a regular and dedicated practice of meditation might be just what the doctor ordered.  Within a culture that is quick to turn to medication, it can be worth it to try meditation as a natural and side effect free option.  Live Tyler seems to be one of the growing number of celebrities to sing the praises of meditation as a way to deal with their ADD or ADHD diagnosis.

The 35-year-old actress – daughter of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler – takes part in the relaxation technique to help her deal with the behavioural condition and also admits meditation also “helps with everything”.

She told the New York Daily News: “I have ADD. [Meditation] definitely helps. It helps with everything.” (Read more)

That last statement is very telling.  It DOES help with everything! When you allow yourself to focus on your own body and mind and what is going on inside with you, it can assist you in taking that focus into your daily life.  If you have been diagnosed with ADD or ADHD, you may need to begin slowly with meditation.  Search out a meditation practitioner in your area that can help you with getting started and perhaps give you some personalized techniques for getting through those first few minutes of quiet.

No matter what, stick with it and don’t give up.
